We say “ciao” to the 2016 Giro d’Italia and discuss the final results. We had prepared to see Steven Kruijswijk of LottoNL in the pink jersey on the podium, but the “Shark” had other plans in mind. Vincenzo Nibali pushed through a stomach bug, mechanical difficulties, a large time gap, and rough mountain conditions to seize the pink jersey by the end of Stage 20 in Torino.
We wonder whether Peter Sagan will answer the call from his home country of Slovakia, as the Slovakian Cycling Federation has “requested a second Olympic mountain bike quota spot specifically for Sagan, in addition to the one it earned through results from its regular mountain bikers. It awaits a response from the International Cycling Union (UCI).” -NBC. Is the medal more prestigious than a jersey?
Tim catches us up with some of his cycling adventures, including a 4-day group ride through Shaver Lake and Kaiser Pass. He also gives us his report on the new course for the Over the Hump MTB Series.
Lastly, we talk about moto safety and Tom Boonen’s assertion that less motos would mean a safer Peloton.

The Central Coast Classique is a 30, 64, and 100 mile ride that tours through the most beautiful and scenic parts of San Luis Obispo County. The CCC have put together challenging and fun rides, with the addition of a wine tasting punch card that will get you upgrades and goodies at the local wineries. The 30 mile route is a wonderful way to spend a gorgeous afternoon with a friend or loved one, but if you’re going for something a bit more challenging the century route will push you to the limits.
