Starting off with this weeks events, it’s going to be a jam-packed weekend with events for everyone. We’ll be documenting the Malibu Gran Fondo March 5-6, look for our cameras as you crush the hills of Los Angeles. Proceeds for the event goes to the Pablove foundation, fighting childhood cancer with love.
We’re so excited to discuss the upcoming TeamTrak event at the world premiere of the World Cycling League at the VELO Sports Center in Carson, March 18-19. Six professional teams will be competing head to head in this track cycling competition – with two international and four state teams. Riders score points for their team in each race. Points are awarded to the top five finishers of the last lap, in special 3 place sprints during the longer races and for any rider who laps the field. Point totals and team standings are calculated and displayed instantly on the arena scoreboard. At the end of the meet, the team that has accumulated the most points wins.
Tim and Justin talk about their first impressions at the North American Handmade Bike Show, and some of the interesting exhibitors they saw. Look for more on NAHBS in issue 131.
Teams for Amgen Tour of California have been announced! One of our favorite cycling teams, Rally Cycling, joins the Tour for the second year, in both the Men’s and Women’s category; and Bradley Wiggins returns to the Tour of CA with his new team, Team Wiggins.
