The Coast Ride

As Many Miles As There Are In A Day

The Coast Ride started as a January tradition amongst friends- three years later, the ride had more than 300 riders ready to embark on a journey from San Francisco to Santa Barbara. Running on Martin Luther King Jr. weekend, the riders make use of the long holiday to tackle the 360+ miles of road. They had their work cut out for them as rain continued to follow the group, but the hard men and women we caught up with on Day 3 were too suffused with summit-fever to take notice of the “mist.”

Start San Francisco, CA
End Santa Barbara, CA
Ride Length ~365 miles
Ride Time 3 days

CicLAvia: Open Streets Event In Downtown Los Angeles

Los Angeles holds the honor of hosting the largest community open-streets event in the United States, and this past month’s 5th anniversary of the event was no different. We saw the standard two wheel, the trusty three wheel, and of course the rare instance of one wheel. No human-powered mode of transportation was denied access, and we saw many paws on the road too. CicLAvia is THE example of how this type of event can be run successfully in a metropolis.
